From Tyler ISD Athletics and Staff Reports
Elliott Davison, a 2020 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School (now Tyler Legacy), has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints.
If Davison, a defensive back, plays in an NFL game, he would become the 11th Red Raider to appear in an NFL game. Davison’s high school teammate Beaux Limmer is currently an offensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams.
As a senior for the Red Raiders in the 2019 season, Davis had 108 tackles, six interceptions, seven pass breakups and a blocked field goal for a team that went 6-5 and advanced to the playoffs under head coach Kurt Traylor.
Davison began his college career at Incarnate Word, playing in 33 games and making 27 starts. Davison made 42 tackles with three interceptions in 2022. In 2021, he had 62 tackles and four interceptions. In 2020, his first season on campus, Davison had 31 tackles and an interception.
Davison transferred to Texas-San Antonio for his final two seasons, where he got to team up with former Lee teammate Jamal Ligon and play for his high school coach Kurt Traylor, who is the run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the Roadrunners and is the brother of UTSA head football coach Jeff Traylor.
Davison had 40 tackles and two interceptions in 2023 in his first season at UTSA. This past season, Davis started at safety and had 58 tackles to help the Roadrunners to a 7-6 record and a win over Coastal Carolina in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.
At UTSA’s Pro Day, Davison had a 37-inch vertical jump, a 10-6 broad jump and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds.
