They’re well known around the league for being one of the craziest fan bases in the NFL. So, does any other fanbase drink as much as Bills Mafia does?
What other fan base do you know that will start tailgating days before a home game? Do any of them jump through tables and eat food from the hood of a car? There are other fans that will go shirtless during a game, but how many of them do it when temperatures are in the single digits?
I’m not saying that any of it is a good idea and I’m definitely not condoning it. Half of it doesn’t even make any sense for anyone outside of Western New York. These aren’t things that most sober people will do. So how much are Bills fans drinking at Bills games?
Believe it or not, Bills fans are NOT the heaviest drinkers
A website that focuses on sports betting odds & analysis called Action Network surveyed 3,058 fans in August of this year to study drinking habits around the league. The found that the NFL fan base that drinks the most is the Bird Gang in Arizona. Yup. they go by either the Red Sea or the Bird Gang as they’re cheering on their Arizona Cardinals and evidently, they drink a lot. 18.5% of the fans qualified as “heavy drinkers” in this study.
Where did Bills Mafia come in?
Don’t get too upset Bills fans, you weren’t far behind. The Bills came in second with 15.9% of fans qualifying as “heavy drinkers.” They also came in fifth when it comes to fan bases that said they drink before entering the stadium.
