The Moore County Middle School Raiders celebrated eighth grade night by snapping a two game losing streak in style, crushing Flintville 40-0.
The Raiders led from the onset as they hit pay dirt on their first drive before stonewalling the resulting Flintville drive. Austin Scherff had multiple passing touchdowns in the lopsided tilt while Caseon Casteel had a huge impact on the game, both on defense and offense. He also took a punt return to the house on special teams.
“It was overall a good team for us and it was eighth grade night so it was a nice way to end the evening with a W for those guys,” the coaching staff noted. “We will just need to get better next week against a touch South Franklin team.”
The Raiders play on the road this coming week.
The win over Flintville comes as the Raiders ramp up for the playoffs. They fell to Highland Rim 50-22 the week before and had lost to South Lincoln the week before that. Those loses came after the Raiders began the season undefeated at 3-0 with wins over South Giles, 47-20, over Unity 15-0 and Cornersville 34-22.
