GREEN BAY − After rare and remarkable health last season, it took one game for the Green Bay Packers offensive line to need its depth.

On a short week, the Packers will host the Washington Commanders without right tackle Zach Tom or left guard Aaron Banks. Both were injured in Sunday’s season-opening win against the Detroit Lions, an oblique for Tom and ankle/groin for Banks. Though the Packers did not have a full practice this week, only doing walkthroughs Sept. 8 and Sept. 9, both were listed as questionable on the projected injury report.

The Packers likely will rely on Darian Kinnard and Jordan Morgan to replace Tom and Banks, respectively. General manager Brian Gutekunst sent a sixth-round draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of training camp for Kinnard, who played well in 15 snaps against the Lions. Morgan is a first-round pick who has played better at left tackle than guard but has plenty of experience on the inside, including 20 snaps against the Lions.

Packers secondary getting reinforcements

Nate Hobbs will make his season debut Sept. 11 against Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The Packers signed Hobbs this spring to be a starting perimeter corner, but the veteran had knee surgery early in training camp. Hobbs returned to practice one week ago, but it was too late for him to ramp up against the Lions.
