The Buffalo Bills are turning the page on their big win over the Baltimore Ravens as they get set to take on the New York Jets on Sunday, but they could surely use another performance this weekend like the one wideout Keon Coleman put up in the opener.
Coleman was one of the heroes of the comeback victory, racking up eight catches for 112 yards and a key touchdown in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Josh Allen was confident in looking his way in big spots.
The second-year receiver made it his mission to improve on an up-and-down rookie season, and, so far, it looks like it’s paying off.
“It’s just one game, but it is a great start,” said Coleman. “That’s expected. It’s expected for me to go out there and make the plays that I make. Wins are expected too. But I guess it’s pretty validating in a sense. I guess you can say that.”
“I said, ‘get ready,’ and now look. Everybody’s like, ‘wow, that was a breakout game.’ Well he’s going to have a breakout season and it’s just going to keep going every week in, week out,” said tackle Dion Dawkins.
The Bills had a walk-thru practice on Thursday, and defensive tackle Ed Oliver popped up on the injury report with an ankle injury. He was seen wearing a protective boot and using a scooter to get around in the locker room afterward, so that bears watching leading up to the game on Sunday. Oliver was arguably their best player on defense in the win over the Ravens.
Cornerback Tre’Davious White was listed as limited for the second-straight day after missing last week’s game with a groin injury.
