Like an aggressive broker on Wall Street, Fantasy owners watched the highs and lows of player performances with bated breath in Week 1. Throw out maybe two of those games (and change the result of the Baltimore Ravens‘ clash with the Buffalo Bills), and you couldn’t have scripted a better opening weekend.

Those who don’t play Fantasy were also emotionally invested. Fans exchanged verbal jabs on social media. One Buffalo Bills fan took it too far. He put his hands on Lamar Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins and was taught a valuable lesson by the NFL.

Stock rose and fell all weekend. Our faith in players and coaches grew while we simultaneously saw higher-rated stars and teams take a hit in the court of public opinion. We flip the page to Week 2 now, and since we’ve drawn a parallel to investment options, here are several Ravens in danger of seeing their stock fall.

Zachary Orr, defensive coordinator

Zachary Orr is a Raven. Period… He played for this great organization for three seasons. This is his eighth season serving on Baltimore’s coaching staff, but tenure alone isn’t enough. This is a results-driven business, and he’d be the first to tell someone that. Talent isn’t lacking on the roster. It’s time for results.

Jaire Alexander, cornerback

Jaire Alexander couldn’t have offered a worse performance than he did in his Ravens debut. He couldn’t tackle. He couldn’t cover. There was no fear of him from the Bills‘ offense. They showed little respect for him. In short, he didn’t put up much of a fight.

Andrew Vorhees and Roger Rosengarten

One could argue that the weakest link in the Ravens’ offense is the unit we’d hope would be the strongest. We’ve been asking more of the guys up front for a while now. Left guard Andrew Vorhees and right tackle Roger Rosengarten were among Pro Football Focus’ lowest-rated players on Todd Monken’s unit, earning overall grades of 46.3 and 57.4, respectively.

The rest of the Ravens’ secondary

We entered the first week of the season pumped about the possibilities of a secondary that featured five former first-rounders. The performance was bad. Alexander was disappointing, but Malaki Starks, Kyle Hamilton, Nate Wiggins, and Marlon Humphrey were equally frustrating.

They struggled individually and collectively, but let’s end this on a high note. This is the unit we believe can bounce back and do so the fastest. The four returning starters feature former All-Pros and Pro Bowlers. Wiggins is a breakout candidate. Starks, the rookie, is a star in the making.
