The Las Vegas Raiders face their division rivals the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 and could be missing a big piece of their offense come Monday night.
Brock Bowers did not practice on Thursday and was spotted watching from the sidelines with a sleeve over his left knee. Head coach Pete Carroll said he expects the second-year tight end to play against the Chargers, but he will need to get through practice this week.
“I’m not sure,” Bowers said, via ESPN’s Ryan McFadden. “We’ll see how it’s feeling throughout the week, but I’m hoping to play.”
Bowers left the Raiders’ Week 1 win over the New England Patriots with a knee injury and did not return in the second half. Before exiting the game, he caught five balls for 103 yards in the 20-13 victory.

In Kansas City, Xavier Worthy was a surprise participant in Thursday’s practice. The wide receiver injured his shoulder during the Chiefs‘ Week 1 loss to the Chargers in Brazil after he collided with tight end Travis Kelce. It was reported Worthy suffered a dislocated right shoulder, but no timetable was announced for when he would play again.
Worthy, who was listed on the injury report as limited, was sporting extra padding on his right arm and took part in drills during the individual part of Thursday’s practice.
“Xavier has been a big part of this with training camp and practice,” said Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. “When you practice, you have so many reps and you’re getting reps with those guys, and now you’ve got to adjust. No one is feeling sorry for us.”

Thursday night’s Green Bay Packers win over the Washington Commanders was costly for both teams. Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed broke his collarbone during a negated 38-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. He will reportedly miss 6-8 weeks of action. Meanwhile, Commanders running back Austin Ekeler is believed to have torn his Achilles late in the fourth quarter and could be done for the season.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London did not have a game status on Thursday after being a limited practice participant this week. London has been dealing with a shoulder injury and Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said he expects the receiver to play Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
Evan Engram caught three passes for 21 yards before leaving Week 1 with a calf injury. The Denver Broncos tight end was listed as limited in practice on Wednesday, but was not on the team’s injury report Thursday signaling he should be good to go for Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert’s status is in question for Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Chiefs. Goedert missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury.
