Atlanta’s updated roster and practice squad with uniform numbers.
The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) will face their first road test of the season when they take on the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) in Week 2. Both teams have changed quarterbacks since their 2024 matchup, which was won by the Vikings, 42-21.
The Falcons replaced Kirk Cousins with Michael Penix Jr., and the Vikings are starting J.J. McCarthy after letting Sam Darnold walk in free agency. Atlanta lost by three points to Tampa Bay in Week 1, nearly sending the game to overtime but Younghoe Koo’s game-tying field goal attempt was slightly off.
Earlier this week, the Falcons signed former Vikings kicker Parker Romo to their practice squad to compete with Koo. In order to make room, the team released linebacker Ronnie Perkins from the practice squad.
Minnesota opened the season with a 27-24 comeback victory over the Chicago Bears. McCarthy’s three fourth-quarter touchdowns helped seal the win. Sunday’s game will air in prime time on NBC at 8:20 p.m. ET.
