Second-year tight end Tip Reiman and rookie linebacker Cody Simon are out for the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Both were DNP’s on the Cardinals injury report on Wednesday and Thursday before head coach Jonathan Gannon ruled them out on Friday. Reiman has not participated due to a foot injury, while Simon remains in concussion protocol.

Reiman played 52% of Arizona’s offensive snaps in a Week 1 win over the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, catching one pass for 10 yards. He is a critical part of Arizona’s run game, as the offense is predicated around a two-tight-end personnel grouping with Reiman’s blocking playing a key role.

Simon, a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State, played 10 special teams snaps and recorded his first career tackle before leaving the game.

Quarterback Kyler Murray (illness), defensive tackle Dante Stills (heel) and linebacker Owen Pappoe (quad) were all off the injury report after they were listed last week.

Only one active member of the Panthers missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, as defensive end Turk Wharton was out with a hamstring issue after he recorded four tackles in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
