The Buffalo Bills are on the road for the 1st time this season, and while they are playing a team called New York, they will be traveling out of State to play them.
Buffalo Bills Take On New “Jersey” Jets On Sunday
The Bills will square off with their AFC East rival, the Jets, on Sunday at 1 pm. While the Jets call themselves the “New York” Jets, they play their home games in New Jersey.
Even their offices are located in New Jersey. [1 Jets Dr, Florham Park, NJ 07932]
The only thing “New York” about the Jets is the name they never changed when they left New York to play in New Jersey.
That makes the Buffalo Bills the only NFL team to play home games in New York.
Even the reigning NFL MVP and Bills star QB Josh Allen knows only one NFL team can call New York home.
But The Stadium Is Close To New York City!
This is the argument that I heard all the time. The stadium is really close to New York, so close that some people consider it part of New York. Also, the Jets started playing in New York, so they are still a New York team.
To that I say, the Buffalo Bills wouldn’t call themselves the Buffalo Bills if they moved over the border to Toronto. Even with all the history the Bills have in Buffalo, they wouldn’t be known as the Buffalo Bills.
So if you ask me and Josh Allen, there is only one NFL team in New York. That would be the Buffalo Bills.
