The Cardinals begin their 20th season at State Farm Stadium on Sunday when they host the Panthers. It’s weird to think the building is already 20; I still have the Cardinals’ hard hat given to me when I took a tour of the place as it was getting built circa 2005, and I still remember the first time I was in there for a game — a preseason day opener against the Steelers in 2006, when, after all those years at Sun Devil Stadium, it was an amazing sight (and site, for that matter.)
So as the Cards start No. 20, I thought I’d do a quick power rankings of my top regular-season home openers. I tried to get five, I ended up with seven(ish), and I thought, well, it’s my list and there really are no rules. So here’s the countdown. For me, at least.
