The Tennessee Titans finished up practice on Friday ahead of their Week 2 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, and during the session, they took some time to work out five players.
The Titans worked out Andrew Farmer, Khalil Herbert, Nate Lynn, Grayson Murphy, and Benton Whitley, although they didn’t add any to the roster or practice squad.

Andrew Farmer is a linebacker out of small Lane College who entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers following the 2023 NFL draft. He would be one of the final cuts before landing on the practice squad and then subsequently being added to the active roster in 2023, where he saw limited action, recording three tackles. After failing to make the roster out of camp in 2024, he spent time on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad during the 2024 season.
Khalil Herbert is a running back who could bring some NFL experience to the table. Initially a sixth-round pick by the Chicago Bears during the 2021 NFL draft, Herbert has spent time with three teams during his NFL career. In all, he has seen action in 56 NFL games (13 starts) and has amassed 400 carries for 1,905 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 53 receptions for 312 yards and two touchdowns with the Bears and Cincinnati Bengals.
Nate Lynn is another small-school linebacker prospect who has spent time with the Detroit Lions after entering the league as an undrafted rookie free agent out of William and Mary following the 2024 NFL draft. Lane flashed during training camp with the Lions, but he injured his shoulder and spent 2024 on injured reserve. Lane was released during final roster cuts in August 2025.
Grayson Murphy is another linebacker prospect that the Titans brought in for a workout. Originally signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted rookie free agent out of UCLA after the 2024 NFL draft, Murphy spent all of 2024 on injured reserve and failed to make the Dolphins out of training camp in 2025.

Benton Whitley was the final linebacker to work out with the Titans on Friday. He entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Holy Cross after the 2022 NFL draft and has bounced around the league on multiple practice squads during his career. In all, he has spent time with five NFL teams since entering the league.
The decision to work out Herbert does make some sense with rookie Kalel Mullings ailing, although there has been no indication that his ankle injury is serious. The Titans also have running back Tyjae Spears on short-term injured reserve, meaning he can return after Week 4 if healthy.
The decision to continue to work out linebackers is interesting, as the team did recently sign veteran Kyzir White to the practice squad, and he could possibly make his Titans’ debut on Sunday against the Rams.
