The Washington Commanders (1-1) lost their first game of the season on Thursday, falling to the Green Bay Packers (2-0) 27-18 at Lambeau Field.
The issues we saw from the Commanders against the New York Giants in Week 1 were exploited by a much better Green Bay Packers team. Jayden Daniels was sacked four times amid 12 quarterback hits, leading to a QBR of 26.9. He did manage 200 passing yards and two touchdowns, but combined with just 51 rushing yards, it simply wasn’t enough to defeat the Packers.
Defensively, the Commanders didn’t have an answer for Jordan Love or Josh Jacobs. Tight end Tucker Kraft also brought his ‘A’ game, recording six receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown, an average of over 20 yards per reception. Love had 292 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Jacobs added 84 rushing yards and a touchdown. The revamped defense isn’t gelling quite yet, apparently.
Let’s take a look at the best (and worst) performers on both sides of the ball, as graded by Pro Football Focus.
