Denver Broncos fans are pumped up about jumbo formations!

Broncos third-year offensive lineman Alex Palczewski is listed as a backup guard on the team’s depth chart, but he’s a tackle by trade — and a tight end by utilization.

Denver coach Sean Payton uses Palczewski as a sixth offensive lineman — technically as a tight end — for the team’s jumbo formations, often to provide an extra blocker for running plays. He played 10 snaps in the team’s season opener on Sunday, and each time Palczewski entered the game, officials announced him as an eligible receiver.

The announcements were frequent enough that Broncos fans started cheering each time “No. 63” was announced as an eligible receiver.

Let’s go, Alex Palczewski!

The 26-year-old lineman started three games last season while Mike McGlinchey was sidelined due to injury, and he played well. Palczewski remains one of the team’s top backup tackles this year, and he’s now getting reps as an eligible receiver. If this new trend of cheering for No. 63 reporting eligible continues, “Palcho” is on his way to becoming a fan favorite in Denver.
