The Pittsburgh Steelers will welcome the Seattle Seahawks into the Steel City for the 2025 home opener in Week 2. Seattle is coming off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and they are hungry to get into the win column for the first time in 2025. The Steelers are hungry to remain undefeated, and they shouldn’t lose this game.

Get The Steelers Running Backs Going Earlyhttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=45SD5f_14hUtQ2500Dec 8, 2024; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA; Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren (30) runs after catch against the Cleveland Browns during the third quarter at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers’ run game struggled in Week 1 against the New York Jets. It has to be better in Week 2, starting with giving Jaylen Warren the most snaps. Kenneth Gainwell is fun, but he shouldn’t be outsnapping Warren. In Week 1, Christian McCaffrey ran wild against the Seahawks. He recorded 69 rushing yards and 73 receiving yards. Pittsburgh has to get the running backs active in Week 2.

4. Keep Aaron Rodgers Safehttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1XzfdM_14hUtQ2500Sep 7, 2025; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) shows the ball during the second half against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Keeping Aaron Rodgers safe is the theme of the season for the Steelers. He got sacked four times in Week 1, and that is unacceptable. Rodgers is old and not as mobile as he once was. The offensive line has to dig deep and give him time to throw the ball. In Week 1, he had the lowest time to throw in the NFL, and he threw four touchdowns.

3. Slow Down Jaxon Smith-Njigbahttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3GwC7z_14hUtQ2500Sep 7, 2025; Seattle, Washington, USA; Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (11) runs the ball during the first half against San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field. The Seahawks have weapons all over the field, but Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the heartbeat of the offense. He caught nine passes for 124 yards against the 49ers in Week 1. He will be a tough cover in Week 2. The Steelers can’t lose track of him. The defense has to play better than it did in Week 1, or it will be a long season in Pittsburgh.

2. Make Sam Darnold See Ghostshttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1llSbZ_14hUtQ2500Sep 7, 2025; Seattle, Washington, USA; Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold (14) passes against the San Francisco 49ers during the fourth quarter at Lumen Field. Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold got sacked once in Week 1. The Steelers’ defense has to step up and swarm him this Week. Good things will happen. Pittsburgh’s star-studded defense forced zero turnovers in Week 1, and they will need a couple of them in Week 2. As usual, all eyes will be on T.J. Watt. He will make a big play.

1. Feed D.K. Metcalfhttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1dDhR4_14hUtQ2500Sep 7, 2025; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf (4) is tackled after a reception during the first quarter against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Rodgers got his revenge game in Week 1, and now it’s D.K. Metcalf’s turn. He spent six seasons in Seattle, posting three 1,000+ yard seasons. He was the go-to weapon for the Seahawks. Now, Metcalf’s going to be on the other sideline. Rodgers will be eager to feed Metcalf against his former team now that he knows what it feels like to stick it to his ex. It would be surprising if he didn’t find the endzone in Week 2.

End Of My Pittsburgh Steelers Ranthttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0bYpQH_14hUtQ2500Sep 7, 2025; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin enters the field before the game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. The Steelers defense will be without DeShon Elliott and Derrick Harmon in Week 2, but they will be fine. They need to make a statement this Week. It’s time to break out the belt. The offense looked smooth in Week 1, and Arthur Smith called a great game. Pittsburgh needs that every week. Last time the Seahawks were in town, Watt took the game over in overtime.
