Texans’ Cal McNair, Hannah McNair, Andre Johnson, Mike Tomon visit Kerrville, give donations after flooding tragedy

  • September 14, 2025

HOUSTON – Moved by the tragic flooding tragedy that impacted Kerrville and the Texas Hill Country, the Texans visited and gave back to those communities.

Texans owner Cal McNair, team foundation vice president Hannah McNair, Cal’s wife, Hall of Fame wide receiver Andre Johnson, team president Mike Tomon, Toro and cheerleaders went to Kerrville to present a $150,000 donation to Kerrville ISD and earmarked $50,000 for Tivy athletics.

The funds will support recovery and relief to communities ravaged by massive, deadly floods.

The Texans also surprised Ingram ISD with $150,000 and Hunt ISD with $50,000 to support families and students impacted by the floods.

KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding recently returned to Kerrville as part of our ongoing coverage, chronicling an emotional kickoff to the football season and to honor the 117 lives lost in the July floods in a ceremony.

The Texans previously committed to donating $500,000 to help the Texas Hill Country, as did the Dallas Cowboys and the National Football League for a total of $1.5 million.

“We are heartbroken by the loss and damage that our neighbors in the Texas Hill Country have endured,” the McNair family said in a July 5 statement. “Our hearts will remain with everyone affected and, in addition to our donation, we will continue to support the search, rescue and recovery efforts.”

Retired Texans star J.J. Watt and his wife, Kealia Ohai-Watt made a $100,000 donation to a Kerrville restaurant through a GoFundMe campaign.
