Not even a bloody nose can stop the Buffalo Bills offense this early in the season. James Cook has two rushing touchdowns in the first half as the Bills have galloped to a commanding 20-3 lead over the New York Jets at halftime.Â
While the Bills have two rushes of 40+ yards in the first half, the noteworthy play of the first half was Josh Allen leaving the game for a few plays toward the end of the first quarter with a bloody nose. Allen appeared to have injured the nose with 1:23 left in the first quarter at the end of a run, and had a gauze on his nose before he reentered the game to start the second quarter.Â
That hasn’t stopped the Bills offense, who have scored on their first four possessions in the half. Cook scored on a 1-yard run and 44-yard run to highlight the scoring, as Matt prate also hit a 52-yard field goal in the first half. The Jets started the game running 12 plays for 13 yards, resulting in three punts and a fumble, before getting on the board late in the half with a Nick Folk 51-yard field goal.Â
