The NFL mandated a moment of silence for political influencer Charlie Kirk on Thursday night, ahead of kickoff at the Green Bay Packers vs. Washington Commanders game.

Heading into this weekend, though, the NFL left it up to the teams. Individual NFL franchises hosting games on Sunday afternoon, September 14 were given the freedom to chose to pay tribute to Kirk as they saw fit. Kirk, 31, was shot and killed in Utah on Wednesday afternoon, September 10. He was shot in the neck at a speaking event at Utah Valley University and pronounced dead at the hospital.
