The Baltimore Ravens are back in the win column. After a disappointing debut to the 2025 season, Baltimore logged a methodical 41-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns that should give coach John Harbaugh plenty to smile about when it’s time to review the film.
This was a game of unsung heroes for the Ravens, who were powered by four touchdown passes from quarterback Lamar Jackson to gradually pull away from a scrappy Browns team. “(The Ravens leaders) just stayed locked in, and said, ‘Let’s have a great week of practice and get ready to go play a really tough football game against a good team that had a lot to play for…I’ve said it before, (the Browns are going to win a lot of games this year,” said Harbaugh after the game.
The leaders set the tone but it is the unsung heroes who deserve the game balls for this performance.

Derrick Henry? 23 rushing yards. Mark Andrews? One reception for 2 yards. Rashod Bateman? Two catches for 15 yards. Isaiah Likely did not suit up. Lamar Jackson rushed for 13 yards.
No. This game was about the Tylan Wallaces of the world. Wallace logged the game’s first touchdown, a 15-yard score from Jackson. He also jumped on a loose ball to sustain a Ravens possession. “(Tylan) is a guy that Lamar trusts. He’s a football player. He’s a football player, and he does football things. He blocks people, he catches passes when you throw it to him, he returns punts, breaks tackles and runs for touchdowns,” said Harbaugh.
He was joined by special teamer Jake Hummel as an unsung hero to make a major play — Hummel blocked a Browns punt to set up Wallace’s touchdown pass. Receiver Tez Walker joined Wallace as a surprise standout with two touchdowns of his own on two targets. How’s that for an efficient day?
Harbaugh referred to this game as a “grind” in the postgame. That’s exactly what it was. It wasn’t pretty. It won’t fulfill your fantasy football itch. But it was methodical, it was effective, and most important of all? It was a win. The oddities of how the Ravens got to 41 points are circumstantial. There was a blocked punt, a 63-yard fumble return by Roquan Smith, and another score off a short field via a Nate Wiggins 61-yard interception return.
Not the usual suspects by any means. But exactly what the doctor ordered to get this team back on the horse in Week 2.
