Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is seeking additional opinions on a severe turf toe injury that could require surgery and sideline Cincinnati’s star for an extended period of time, league sources say.

Burrow left Sunday’s 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second quarter and was soon ruled out. He later passed through the locker room in a walking boot with crutches.

Head coach Zac Taylor is expected to provide an update on Burrow’s health Monday afternoon.

In Burrow’s absence, backup Jake Browning led the Bengals to a come-from-behind victory over the Jags, completing 21 of 32 passes for 241 yards and two passing touchdowns. His 1-yard QB sneak sealed the win with 18 seconds remaining.

Burrow was 7 for 13 for 76 yards and a touchdown when he left the game.

Cincinnati, 2-0 after wins in the opening two weeks, will face the Minnesota Vikings on the road on Sunday.
