The game felt like it was not even that close.

With that, here is Bills Wire’s report card for the Bills’ Week 2 win over the Jets:

In a shocking turn of events after his heroics in Week 1, quarterback Josh Allen did not lead the way in this win. Allen was 14-for-25 passing for only 148 yards. It was only the second time in Allen’s NFL career the Bills won a game where he did not score a touchdown.

So how did the Bills win despite Allen’s average game? The effort on the ground.

Allen himself have six carries for 59 yards. Running back James Cook stole the show, taking 21 carries for 132 yards (6.3 avg) with two going for touchdowns. His 44-yard score was a thing of beauty.

The Jets were non-existent in the air. Quarterback Justin Fields was poor. He only completed three passes for 27 yards before he was replaced late due to injury.

Fields did get a bit going on the ground with five carries for 49 yards. Aside from one or two of those scrambles, the Jets had nothing going on offense. Starting running back Breece Hall only averaged 2.9 yards per carry on 10 handoffs (29 total yards).

The special teams job was done across the board.

Kicker Matt Prater was 3-for-3, including a boot from 52 yards. New punter Cameron Johnston faired well as he averaged 43.3 yards per punt. Even gunner Sam Franklin made a few good tackles in coverage on special teams.

Offense, defense, special teams. Take your pick, the Bills outclassed the Jets.

Having said that, credit to head coach Sean McDermott. After an emotional Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens, his team did not overlook the Jets in the slightest.
