It appears the NFC West is going to be an absolute slugfest this season.
The Los Angeles Rams are looking to go back-to-back as division champions but it’ll be a real challenge for them to repeat with all the talent in the NFC West. Through two weeks, it’s by far the best division in football.

Combined, the three teams in the division are 7-1, and the only loss was by the Seattle Seahawks to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 – a narrow 17-13 defeat at home in the opener.
There are currently three undefeated teams with a perfect 2-0 record. No other division in the NFL has more than two unbeatens; the AFC West has two unbeatens, but both the Chargers and Raiders are only 1-0.
Each NFC West team’s offense and defense has been impressive in the first two weeks, too. All four teams have a positive point differential, each scoring between 43 and 47 points and allowing between 28 and 35 points. Every other division has at least one team with a negative point differential.
Here’s a look at the West two weeks into the 2025 season.

The NFC West’s seven total wins are by far the most of any division. The next closest is four wins, which the NFC North, NFC East and AFC North both have. Barring a tie between the Chargers and Raiders on Monday, the AFC West will also have four wins through two weeks.
It helps that there’s only been one divisional game so far for the teams in the NFC West, but it’s not as if it’s the only division with limited head-to-head matchups through two weeks. The NFC South has only had one divisional game, as has the AFC West (excluding Monday night). The AFC South hasn’t had any divisional games yet.
For the Rams, they’ll only face one NFC West opponent before Week 10. That comes in a couple of weeks when they face the 49ers in Week 5 on Thursday Night Football. They’ll then play the 49ers again in Week 10, followed by two meetings each with the Cardinals and Seahawks in the final eight weeks.
