The Seattle Seahawks dominated in Week 2, defeating Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17. Rodgers and the Steelers offense struggled against Mike Macdonald’s stout defense. The veteran quarterback completed 18-of-33 passing attempts for 203 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Seahawks defensive backs Coby Bryant and Derion Kendrick (a recent acquisition) had interceptions.
The Seahawks made history in Sunday’s Week 2 win that will probably be a trivia question some day. They became the first organization to beat Rodgers with the Packers, Jets, and Steelers. Shout out to Seattle Times beat reporter Bob Condotta for the excellent note.
The Seahawks played Rodgers when he was with the Jets in Week 13 last season. Macdonald’s squad pulled out a hard-fought victory, winning 26-21. Rodgers threw for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception (the infamous Leonard Williams 92-yard pick-six!).

Rodgers played against the Seahawks on 10 occasions (nine as the primary quarterback) throughout his illustrious run with the Packers. He was 6-3 in those nine starts, including a three-year run of wins from 2015-17.
Very few teams, if any, will join the Seahawks in this strange territory of Rodgers folklore. Sunday’s Week 2 victory was big in more ways than one.
