For a second week in a row, the Green Bay Packers game has resulted in historic viewership ratings.

Amazon said the Packers’ game against the Washington Commanders on “Thursday Night Football” on Sept. 11 at Lambeau Field was the most-watched regular-season TNF on Prime Video game ever. This was the first game of the NFL season on Prime, since the Week 1 Thursday game was on NBC.

An average audience of 17.76 million viewers watched the Packers defeat the Commanders, 27-18, according to Nielsen. The game peaked at 20.35 million viewers between 8:15 and 8:29 p.m.

The previous all-time high for Prime was also a Packers game, last December against the Detroit Lions.

The Prime ratings show a second-consecutive year of double-digit viewership growth, according to Amazon. Thursday’s game posted a 19% increase vs. last year’s Prime opener and a 35% increase from the 2024 season average.

Packers-Commanders had a median age of 46.9, eight years younger than the NFL average on linear networks during Week 1.

CBS Sports said the Packers game against Detroit on Sept. 7 was the most-watched Week 1 game since the NFL returned to CBS in 1998.
