The Week 2 finale is the second part of a doubleheader when AFC West rivals clash in a battle for first place in the division. It’s the Los Angeles Chargers visiting the Las Vegas Raiders in this primetime West Coast showdown. After starting the season with wins last week, old rivals Jim Harbaugh and Pete Carroll begin the next chapter with their first AFC West matchup.
In Week 1, the Chargers came out and gave the Chiefs all they could handle, defeating the defending AFC West champions, 27-21. Justin Herbert played a nearly flawless game, completing 25 of 34 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns. The Chargers executed coach Harbaugh’s game plan efficiently and held the reigning AFC champions to just 21 points on defense. Herbert will have his work cut out for him this week against Carroll’s defense, which gave up just 13 points to the Patriots in Week 1.

The Raiders were able to outlast the New England Patriots in Week 1, 20-13. Pete Carroll’s defense did what they usually does and made it tough for the Patriots to move the ball down the field. Las Vegas’ defense gave up just 3.3 yards per carry and 5.5 yards per pass attempt to New England. Geno Smith had a big game with 362 yards through the air on 24 of 34 passing and added a TD. Smith might find a little more resistance this week against the Chargers, who were the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL last season. Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty will look to bounce back after a tough debut, but nothing will come easy against the Chargers’ front seven.
