GREEN BAY (WLUK) — With a 2-0 record and a mini bye week, the Green Bay Packers are feeling good through the first two weeks of the season.

It helps when you beat a division rival who led the league in wins and last year’s NFC runner-up.

“It feels good, man. Wonderful,” said offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins. “Just to be able to go out there and win the first two games. Just got to keep it going.”

“Those are two big wins,” said safety Evan Williams. “Those are two meaningful opponents. They came in here and put their best foot forward and it obviously means something that we were able to essentially neutralize them.”

“We understand the importance of how important it is early in the season to be able to stack wins and be able to build,” said safety Xavier McKinney.

The team is trying not to get too wrapped up in having the best record in the NFC North. After all, it is just two weeks. Now it’s about staying even-keeled and keeping their focus in the right direction.

“You can’t really get complacent and you can’t feel like you won the Super Bowl,” said McKinney. “Cause there’s a lot of m*****s that start off 2-0 and later in the season, they don’t be worth s**t. In order for us to do that, we have to keep making sure we know the level of importance of these days and keep trying to get better.”

“I’ve been here seven years, I’ve been in the league seven years. I’ve seen the ups and the downs, so I know how it switch. Things can change,” said Jenkins. “Having the same mindset, having the same approach to every week is going to be big.”

“We understand we have to keep the foot on the pedal,” said Williams. “Even if was two 0-2 teams that we beat. It really doesn’t matter. Heading into next week, we got to keep the same intensity, same foot on the pedal.”

Green Bay takes their momentum on the road for the first time this season against an 0-2 Cleveland Browns team at noon Sunday on FOX 11.
