The Washington Commanders could be without star quarterback Jayden Daniels this weekend.

Daniels, the second-year starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders, is dealing with a knee injury. The former LSU Tigers star suffered the injury during Thursday night’s loss to the Packers at Lambeau Field. Daniels, who led the Commanders to an NFC Championship Game appearance in his rookie season, is listed as “day to day” by the injury report.

“I know there will be lots of questions about our QB but here’s what I know – he had an MRI and is truly day to day. What does that mean for Sunday? I cant tell you that now, will have more Wednesday,” Quinn told reporters on Monday, via JP Finlay.

But as Daniels is listed as day-to-day, there’s a growing concern for his longterm health, given how many hits he takes.

The Washington Commanders quarterback is tall, but skinny. He’s 6 foot 4 inches and listed at 210 pounds, though that is probably high.

Daniels has been taking more QB hits than anyone.

Mina Kimes sounds the alarm

Kimes, appearing on ESPN’s “NFL Live” sounded the alarm on Daniels and his longterm health on Monday.

“Through the first two weeks of the season, he leads all quarterbacks in QB contact. … He led all quarterbacks in QB contact last year. … It’s just not sustainable,” Kimes said on ESPN’s “NFL Live.”

Kimes added that in last week alone, against the Green Bay Packers, Daniels took 12 quarterback hits.

Daniels and his rushing skills are a weapon, but he needs to limit the hits moving forward, if he’s going to have a long career.
