The Denver Broncos might be getting close to getting some reinforcements on the injury front.
Broncos defensive lineman Malcolm Roach and inside linebacker Drew Sanders are not eligible to return from short-term injured reserve until Week 5, but two other players could return within the next two weeks.

Denver tight end Nate Adkins (ankle) was limited at practice last Thursday and Friday, which is a good sign for his recovery progress. Broncos coach Sean Payton explained this summer that the team did not place Adkins on short-term IR because they expected him to return before the four-game window.
So it seems reasonable to assume that Adkins could be on track to return against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3, and if not, definitely in time for a Week 4 clash with the Cincinnati Bengals (barring any setbacks).
Meanwhile, Denver’s defense desperately needs linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) back on the field. He was limited last Friday, which is a step in the right direction. Like Adkins, Greenlaw was not placed on short-term IR presumably because the Broncos believed he could return within four games. So he could return to action this week or next.
Denver is scheduled to practice for the first time this week on Wednesday. Broncos fans will be eager to see what level of participation the injury report lists for Adkins and Greenlaw going into Week 3.
