As if the NFL draft couldn’t get any bigger, Rounds 2-3 on Day 2 promises even more selections for football fans.
Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off at 7 p.m. ET and might stir up even more drama than Round 1 did. The Tennessee Titans kicked off the draft as expected by selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick, the first of 32 picks on Thursday night.
But the real surprise came from someone who wasn’t drafted: Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is still on the board as the second round kicks off.
The Detroit Lions selected Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with the 28th overall pick, and are scheduled to select two more players on the draft’s second day.
The Lions selected Georgia offensive guard Tate Ratledge with their second-round pick. Detroit was originally slotted at 28th overall in the second round, but made a trade with the Denver Broncos to move up to the 25th pick. The Lions also have the 38th pick in the third round (102nd overall), acquired as compensation from the NFL when former assistant coach Aaron Glenn accepted the New York Jets coaching job.
Originally holding a fourth-round pick, the Lions traded it to the Broncos as part of the exchange for the pick that turned into Ratledge. Detroit also got a 2025 seventh-round pick in the deal, giving them their third seventh-round pick of the draft.
