The Ravens had multiple practice squad moves on Tuesday, ahead of Monday night’s gigantic matchup against the Detroit Lions on ESPN. Baltimore had Nick Samac sign with the Carolina Panthers’ active roster. The Detroit Lions then signed Malik Cunningham to their practice squad.
With room to make a move, Baltimore brought back outside linebacker and local product Malik Hamm to their practice squad. After not making the 53-man roster, Hamm was initially signed to the practice squad, but was released last week when the Ravens signed wide receiver Cornelius Johnson.

Hamm made Baltimore’s 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie in 2023. His first two seasons were lost to knee injuries, but he returned this summer and had a strong preseason.
Hamm can play outside linebacker depth if elevated after Kyle Van Noy left Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury. Van Noy could be out weeks, while David Ojabo, who has been a healthy scratch the first two weeks, could also see action if Van Noy can’t play.
In another corresponding move, Baltimore placed Veteran safety and special teams ace J.T. Gray on the practice squad injured list. A 2021 special teams Pro Bowler, Gray has yet to see action with the Ravens after signing to the practice squad on Sept. 3.
