The Carolina Panthers announced that former Colorado wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. will add ten digits to his No. 5 jersey and wear No. 15 in the NFL.

Horn was the Panthers’ sixth-round selection in last month’s draft and will wear the same No. 15 that former Buffs Laviska Shenault wore when he was a Panther during the 2022 season. Most recently, Jonathan Mingo wore the number.

A current Panther does not wear the former Colorado receiver’s college No. 5, but perhaps the jersey was set aside for one of Carolina’s free agent signings.

Fellow Panther rookie receiver and top 10 pick, Tetairoa McMillan, will wear No. 4.

Horn and the Panthers seem ecstatic about the with Carolina’s offensive coordinator Brad Idzik loving the intensity Horn brought on the field.

“All that heart you put on tape, just bring it with you,” Idzik said. “You’ll lead, You’ll lead from day one. Just be yourself.”

In two seasons at Colorado, Horn had 95 receptions for 1,108 yards and seven touchdowns. After a strong junior season in 2023, Horn dealt with injuries in 2024 and missed the final three games due to injury.

Several teams were interested in Horn after he improved his 40-yard time to 4.40 seconds. The speedy receiver joins a team with Adam Thielan, Xavier Legette and McMillan. However, Horn should see plenty of snaps early, given his natural ability as a returner.
