Less than 48 hours after suffering a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at home, the Kansas City Chiefs received backlash for a questionable post on social media.

The Chiefs slowed down Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, limiting Philadelphia’s offense to 216 total yards. Although there was plenty of fight from Patrick Mahomes in the second half, a costly interception in the red zone sealed Kansas City’s fate. Of course, it also doesn’t help that it’s impossible to stop the “Tush Push.”

Since the Chiefs are 0-2 for the first time with Mahomes at quarterback, their fans are uneasy about this season’s outlook. The social media team, however, tried to ease those concerns by sharing a fun statistic about Steve Spagnuolo’s defense.

“Our defense held the Eagles to their lowest offensive output since Week 6 of the 2021 season,” the Chiefs wrote on X.

It didn’t take long for NFL fans to troll the Chiefs on X. They found the post about their defense to be very embarrassing since it came after a loss.

“Chiefs went from talking three peat to claiming participation trophies,” one fan said.

“This is sadder than a Taylor swift break up song. You lost – shake it off,” a second fan replied.

“This is the most embarrassing tweet I’ve ever seen. Whoever allowed this to be posted should fired to the sun. Go Birds,” an Eagles fan commented.

“Upon further review this is one of the saddest posts I’ve ever seen,” Jake Tapper of CNN said.

Will the Chiefs turn their season around?

History isn’t on Kansas City’s side at the moment. Since 1970, only 43 of 422 teams have made the playoffs after an 0-2 start.

On the bright side, the Chiefs have a favorable game coming up against the New York Giants. It might just take one win for the reigning AFC champions to get back on track.

The road won’t get much easier after Week 3 though. The Chiefs will take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 28, the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 6, and the Detroit Lions on Oct. 12.
