Jaguars vs. Texans picks against the spread
Jordan Mendoza: Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)
Both teams are coming off heartbreaking losses in Week 2 and need to right the ship. It’s hard to imagine the Texans moving to 0-3, but Jacksonville’s offense is more trustworthy heading into this matchup.
Jon Hoefling: Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)
After a bit of a meltdown against Cincinnati, I’m buying the dip on Jacksonville. At some point, Travis Hunter and/or Brian Thomas Jr. is going to show up, and I trust Liam Coen to take advantage of Houston’s atrocious pass blocking.
Tyler Dragon: Houston Texans (+1)
This might be a must win for the 0-2 Texans. The Jaguars let Jake Browning cook on them last week. That means C.J. Stroud should have a field day against Jacksonville.
Christopher Bumbaca: Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)
It’s tough to picture the Texans starting 0-3 but the offensive line really may be that bad (and the schedule that unforgiving). And I like the combination of the Jaguars’ offense looking better and Jacksonville being at home.
Blake Schuster: Houston Texans (+1)
This almost qualifies as a get-right game for Houston, which had a tough draw opening the season against the Rams and Buccaneers – two tough teams almost always overlooked. The 0-2 Texans are only a combined six points from staring 2-0.
Lorenzo Reyes: Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)
Houston has simply been so underwhelming to start this season, and the Jaguars have been surprisingly dominant on the ground. At home, with the line essentially a pick ’em, I think Jacksonville is in a great spot here.
