The Green Bay Packers’ 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders took center stage in the newest episode of The Tundra, the team-focused podcast hosted by beat writer Matt Schneidman and former Packers fullback John Kuhn. The hosts broke down the win, praised tight end Tucker Kraft’s emergence, and looked ahead to Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns.

Schneidman opened the show by calling the nine-point win “the most complete game Green Bay has played so far this season.” He pointed to a defense that controlled the tempo and an offense that leaned on smart, efficient play from quarterback Jordan Love.

“This looked like a team that knows exactly who it is,” Schneidman said. “They didn’t try to do too much, they didn’t make mistakes, and Washington never really had a chance to get comfortable.”

Kuhn agreed, saying the defense set the tone. “That front seven was dominant,” Kuhn said. “They were in the backfield all day, and when you have that kind of pressure, the rest of the defense can play fast and aggressive.”

The conversation quickly shifted to Kraft, who hauled in two touchdowns and has become a favorite target for Love. Schneidman said Kraft’s production is no longer a surprise. “He’s turning into a star right in front of us,” Schneidman said. “Every week, he looks more comfortable, and he’s becoming that security blanket you want your tight end to be.”

Kuhn, a former offensive player, noted Kraft’s development as both a receiver and blocker. “He’s not just making catches,” Kuhn said. “He’s finishing blocks, he’s doing the dirty work, and that’s what makes coaches trust you. He’s becoming a complete player.”

The hosts also praised Love, whose efficient play continues to steady the Packers’ offense. Schneidman said Love is “doing all the right things” to keep Green Bay winning.

“He doesn’t have to throw for 350 yards for this team to succeed,” Schneidman said. “He’s reading the field, protecting the football, and making the right decision at the right time.”

Kuhn echoed that assessment, saying Love’s consistency has helped the team’s confidence. “Guys feed off that,” Kuhn said. “When your quarterback is calm, patient and under control, it spreads. You can see it in the way the offense carries itself.”

Looking ahead, the hosts previewed Green Bay’s Week 3 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Schneidman pointed to the Browns’ pass rush, led by Myles Garrett, as a major challenge. “This will be the biggest test for the offensive line so far,” he said. “Keeping Love upright is the No. 1 priority.”

Kuhn added that Green Bay’s defense will have to be ready for a physical game. “The Browns want to win at the line of scrimmage,” Kuhn said. “If the Packers can match that intensity, they’ve got a real shot to start 3-0.”

The episode closed with both hosts agreeing that the win over Washington was a statement. “This team is building something,” Schneidman said. “And right now, it feels sustainable.”
