Seattle Seahawks EDGE Boye Mafe is in the fourth season of his career. That means its a contract year. Mafe is attempting to perform his way into a lucrative extension after posting a modest 6.0 sacks throughout 2024, down from the 9.0 QB takedowns he registered in 2023.
In fact, there’s a stat that perfectly captures how effective Maye has been for Mike Macdonald’s defense through two weeks. ESPN Analytics tracks advanced stats like pass-rush-win-rate (PRWR). Through two contests, Mafe ranks 4th-best among all EDGEs, with a win-rate of 31%.
Mafe is among the four pass rushers with a win-rate that’s 30 percent or better. The others include two superstars in Nik Bonitto and Will Anderson Jr., and surprise 2025 performer Isaiah McGuire. Mafe’s nine individual “wins” are also tied for fourth place.

Mafe is currently tied for the Seahawks lead with Byron Murphy II in pressures with seven, according to Pro Football Focus. Mafe is yet to record his first sack of 2025. The metrics indicate he’s been unlucky, with a win-rate that proves he’s making quarterbacks uncomfortable in the pocket.
If Mafe can sustain this success rate, he’ll be well-positioned to command a sizable contract on the open market. Whether that happens in Seattle or elsewhere remains to be seen.
