The WPIAL is well known for producing many of the greatest players in the history of football, including George Blanda, Mike Ditka, Aaron Donald, Tony Dorsett, Bill Fralic, Ty Law, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, and Darrell Revis among the most legendary.

Aliquippa Quips Report

Week Four: #1 Aliquippa Quips (2-1) vs Penn Hills Indians (1-3), 7:00 PM

Through three quarters, it wasn’t looking good for Aliquippa, as they trailed Mars 6-0.

But the Quip’s offense finally awakened, scoring a touchdown at the 10:08 mark of the final stanza, on a four yard run by Joseph Work.

Work would score again on a nine yard run to make it 13-6.

Aliquippa then sealed the game as Qa’lil Goode had a pick-six off of Mars quarterback Colin Yurisinec.

This week, the Quips (2-1) host Penn Hills at The Pit at Heinz Field. The Indians are coming off their first win of the year, a 49-14 victory over Fox Chapel.

Quip’s QB Marques Council has thrown for 491 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions, while adding 138 yards rushing and a touchdown. Josh Lay is the leading receiver with nine receptions for 163 yards, with Qa’Lil Goode right behind him with five catches for 153 yards.

Work is the leading rusher with 146 yards on the ground and two TD’s.

Penn Hills is lead by QB Devin Harris, who has 257 yards passing and one touchdown.

Coury Pitss has 10 catches  for 73 yards, while Richard Littlejohn leads the team with 99 yards receiving off of eight receptions.

Doryan Peay has rushed for 334 yards and two touchdowns.
