The San Francisco 49ers opened practice Wednesday for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with 10 players (six starters) on the injury report, eight of whom did not practice. Quarterback Brock Purdy, who missed Sunday’s game against the Saints, was limited.
Starting left guard Ben Bartch was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Bartch suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Saints on his 10th offensive snap of the game. Rookie seventh-round choice Connor Colby played the remaining 61 snaps (86 percent).

Asked if Purdy being listed as limited shows he’s progressing, mostly from the toe problem, head coach Kyle Shanahan said, “Yeah, he wasn’t limited last week, so yeah.” After then being asked if Purdy has a chance to play Sunday, Shanahan said, “Yeah, he does have a chance.”
