For the second straight week, the Seattle Seahawks’ Wednesday injury report is a bit worrisome.
Seattle Seahawks shuffle roster, add WR from practice squad
Four notable players did not participate in the week’s first practice ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints. They are:
• Cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee)
• Safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle)
• Safety Julian Love (hamstring)
• Running back Zach Charbonnet (foot)
Charbonnet is the surprise of the group, as the other three players all were on the injury report last week. Charbonnet, who is in his third year out of UCLA, has rushed for just 57 yards on 27 carries this season. He had a strong sophomore campaign in 2024, gaining 569 yards on 135 carries, including a career-high 134 yards in a December win over Arizona.
Despite two-time Pro Bowler Witherspoon and rookie second-rounder Emmanwori missing Sunday’s win at Pittsburgh and not practicing Wednesday, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Monday they both had a chance to return to action this week.
Love missed time in practice last week but played against the Steelers.
Seattle’s injury report Wednesday also had five players as limited participants:
• Linebacker Derick Hall (hip)
• Wide receiver Tory Horton (groin)
• Cornerback Josh Jobe (knee)
• Linebacker Ernest Jones (shoulder)
• Offensive tackle Abraham Lucas (elbow)
New Orleans’ injury report for Wednesday included five players, most notably defensive end Chase Young, who did not practice due to a calf injury that has kept him from playing thus far.
The 1-1 Seahawks will host the 0-2 Saints at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. New Orleans is in its first season under head coach Kellen Moore, a native of Prosser, Wash.
Radio coverage on Seattle Sports of Sunday’s game will begin at 10 a.m. with the pregame show.
