It’s only Week 3 of the NFL season and there’s a matchup between two backup quarterbacks as the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals face off on Sunday.
It’s not ideal for either team, but the old saying, next man up is certainly coming into play.
The Vikings endured a rough loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday night as the offense struggled and young quarterback J.J. McCarthy suffered an ankle injury. The team is 1-1 and will start journeyman quarterback Carson Wentz.
The Bengals, while are still undefeated, lost quarterback Joe Burrow to a toe injury last Sunday, that is expected keep him out for the majority of the season. Jake Browning will get the start after playing the hero in relief, beating the Jaguars 31-27 with two late touchdown passes.
