At the risk of looking too far ahead, we, like so many others, have circled Weeks 14 and 18 on the NFL’s regular-season calendar. The Baltimore Ravens‘ games vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers always mean something, even if it’s only an opportunity for one side to ruin something for the other.
John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin have met at the center of the field for a postgame handshake 38 times. In every encounter, their teams have engaged in fierce competition, often trying to rip each other’s helmets off. The Steelers had a setback in Week 2, but that won’t lessen the excitement surrounding the upcoming matchup between Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

That one is shaping up to be ‘must-see television’. More important matters are afoot, though. Baltimore can’t look too far ahead as it hosts the defending NFC North champion during Week 3 in primetime.
Another Ravens home affair provides yet another potential lesson in humility.
The Cleveland Browns got a little chesty in Week 2, didn’t they? Game time came. They put up a fight. Ultimately, the Ravens proved they’re the better team and pulled away.
Call it a lesson in humility. This time around, the Detroit Lions are coming to town. They’re coming off a tough Week 1 loss and a convincing Week 2 win, both versus Divisional opponents. Our question is this. Will the real Detroit Lions stand up?

Their offense went from getting nothing on the road to scoring at will in their home-opener, but as Monday Night Football approaches, humble pie might be on the Ravens’ menu. For the second time in as many weeks, the Ravens are the hosts, and there is just something about the friendly confines of M&T Bank Stadium in an important game on the national stage.
We’re all the winners. We get Lamar Jackson vs. Jared Goff in a quarterback duel. Their teams are expected to be contenders. After a couple of blah weeks, MNF owes us this. These are the types of games that deserve to be played in front of a national audience.
