Drew Brees is still trying to relaunch his broadcasting career, and will be getting a fairly high-profile opportunity to do so in Week 3 of the NFL season.

Brees will feature on FOX’s studio coverage during Week 3, according to Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal. He will sit in for Julian Edelman on “Fox NFL Kickoff,” as Edelman will be inducted into the New England Patriots’ Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Brees will also play a role in FOX’s regular “NFL Sunday” pregame show.

Clearly, Brees has not given up on his ambitions as a broadcaster. He spent 2021 working at NBC, but received poor reviews, particularly for his in-game work. The former New Orleans Saints quarterback will receive another opportunity in December to show that he has improved.

Brees played 20 seasons in the NFL from 2001-2020, mostly with the Saints. He made the Pro Bowl 13 times and led New Orleans to a win in Super Bowl XLIV. The 46-year-old has maintained that he could become the best NFL broadcast analyst in the business if given an opportunity.
