Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk is trending in the right direction.
The Texans are gearing up for their first AFC South divisional game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at EverBank Stadium, where new head coach Liam Coen is looking to end the eight-year winning streak for Houston in Duval County.

Kirk, who was traded from the Jaguars to the Texans in exchange for a late-round pick this offseason, spent the past three seasons in Jacksonville. He missed the first the first two games with a hamstring injury, but returned to practice for the first time since the end of training camp on Wednesday morning.
Defensive back Jaylin Smith (hamstring) didn’t practice for the second straight day, which isn’t a promising sign for him to play on Sunday. Should he miss time, veteran special teams standout Tremon Smith likely will be the No. 4 cornerback behind Kamari Lassiter, who was limited at practice with a knee injury, Derek Stingley Jr. and nickel defender Jalen Pitre.
