It’s only Week 3 of the NFL season, but ESPN’s Football Power Index has already determined which team will own the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft.
The Tennessee Titans owned the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after going 3-14 under head coach Brian Callahan. The front office used that selection on Miami quarterback Cam Ward. In his first two starts, the talented rookie gunslinger has completed just 50.8% of his passes for 287 yards with a touchdown.

Unfortunately for the Titans, they’re off to yet another rocky start. They’ll enter this Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with an 0-2 record.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) winds up to throw against the Los Angeles Rams during the third quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025.
As of now, ESPN’s FPI has the Titans finishing with the worst record in the league. Their projection has them at 5.1-11.9, which is essentially 5-12.
The New York Giants are right behind the Titans with a projected record of 5.7-11.2
Tennessee has competition for the No. 1 pick.
There are currently 10 teams entering Week 3 with an 0-2 record. One of them happens to be the Kansas City Chiefs. Obviously, we don’t expect them to be in the race for the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

If the Titans were to land the top pick, they’d most likely field trade calls. They already have a potential franchise quarterback in Ward.
As of right now, the Titans aren’t interested in tanking. They have to figure out if they have a coach-quarterback duo capable of competing in the AFC South.
The Titans might get the answer to their question over the next month since they’re taking on the Colts and Texans in back-to-back weeks.
