Quick thoughts from South Florida Sun Sentinel staffers on the Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium on “Thursday Night Football”:
Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist
The Dolphins played their best game of the early season but they had two costly plays — one a missed block by third-team right guard Daniel Brunskill that resulted in a fourth-quarter interception by quarterback TuaTagovailoa, and the other a roughing the kicker penalty by defensive tackle Zach Sieler that extended Buffalo’s go-ahead touchdown drive. Clean up that stuff and the rest of the season takes on a promising look.
David Furones, Dolphins Writer
The Dolphins fought hard. It was an impressive showing with how challenging of a gauntlet it was to travel to Buffalo and pull it off on a short week, but it still wasn’t good enough against the AFC East power that has owned this franchise in recent years. The result still left me encouraged with what the team can do following a long rest with a little bit of a soft part of the schedule coming up.

The Dolphins fought valiantly, but Buffalo extended its NFL-record streak of not losing the turnover battle in a game to 25 consecutive contests, and for the ninth time in franchise history, the Dolphins are 0-3. This sort of performance will win games for Miami, but they are now in a deep hole.
Keven Lerner, Assistant Sports Editor
The Dolphins have rarely been an easy out in Buffalo under Mike McDaniel, but the NFL famously doesn’t give much value to moral victories, and now the Dolphins are in a deep hole. Tua had a couple good drives, but another wrecking turnover.
