The Philadelphia Eagles have notoriously been patient with their edge rushers over the last 20 years. It took Brandon Graham seven years to become the kind of Pro Bowl hero the organization knew he could be.
So, despite the lack of production from former New York Jet Bryce Huff, the Eagles aren’t giving up on the veteran just yet.

Huff signed a three-year deal worth $51 million last season but dealt with injuries and struggled to see the field due to his inability to defend the run. While that sunken cost would normally ruin most teams, the Eagles didn’t skip a beat. They dominated Super Bowl LIX with Huff being a healthy scratch.
That doesn’t mean general manager Howie Roseman or the Eagles are ready to give up on him just yet.
“I think the story is yet to be written on Bryce,” Roseman said back in February. “Now, I’m stubborn, I understand that. I’m stubborn on a lot of things.”
There is reason to believe Huff can bounce back with a big year in 2025. He has an excellent first step and can rush the passer well. If he improves in his run defense, he can prove Philadelphia’s investment was worth it.

And that is something Roseman continues to hope to see.
“I was just talking to Wash [edge rushing coach Jeremiah Washburn] about [Huff]. He had three rushes in the championship game and two got home – and I believe in the player,” Roseman said.“Sometimes, the first year, I mean, I remember Hargrave’s first year wasn’t as good as his great second and third year.”
Huff has a lot to prove this offseason. That much is obvious. If he’s able to do so, the Eagles defense will continue to be among the elite groups in the league moving forward.
