This offseason, the Chicago Bears appeared to make a considerable effort to address the trenches on both sides of the football. Yet, both the defensive and offensive lines have struggled early on.
With five sacks through the first two weeks, there is plenty more room for growth and success for the Bears pass rush, and one of the newest names in the locker room is taking responsibility, believing the unit will turn it around.

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, an 11-year veteran of the NFL who spent his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons before signing with the Bears this offseason, believes the team’s blowout loss to Detroit will be “a defining moment” for Chicago this season.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Jarrett not only shared his thoughts on the loss to Detroit, but addressed the confidence the defensive unit has as well.
Chicago lacked to get any rush on Lions quarterback Jared Goff, which created a clean pocket for the veteran quarterback and was a big reason for the offense putting up 52 points on the Bears defense. Despite giving up a total of 73 points in the last five quarters of football, Jarrett said the defensive pass rush unit will not be losing confidence.
“We are not going to lose confidence,” Jarrett said.

The Bears defense has an opportunity to bounce back when they host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, where bringing pressure on quarterback Dak Prescott will be key to pulling out a victory.
