This Sunday, the Tennessee Titans host the Indianapolis Colts at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, at 12:00 p.m. CDT in their first divisional matchup of 2025.
The Colts have been on a tear with Daniel Jones under center, starting out 2-0 and looking like a team that’s firing on all cylinders.
The Titans haven’t won yet, but they still pass the eye test each week as Cam Ward continues to develop and the rebuild progresses. There are glimmers and glimpses of the potential some of the young players on this team have, and with their second home game in a row, we may see the Titans start to feel comfortable as a team.
In a divisional matchup, it’s often hard to predict what will happen. These two teams are very familiar with each other and how the other operates. That said, there are still some viable fantasy options to start in this game, while it may prove safer for others to sit.
Let’s look at some fantasy players to start from this Week 3 game.
Start: RB Jonathan Taylor
This should be a no-brainer, honestly. Jonathan Taylor has exploded for 236 yards through two games, but he hasn’t found the end zone yet. The Titans have allowed 300 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns through two games. Although T’Vondre Sweat says he wants to play on Sunday, his status remains questionable. Even with Sweat on the field, the Colts will rely heavily on Taylor in Daniel Jones’ first away game with the team.
Sit: WR Michael Pittman Jr.
Michael Pittman Jr. is a solid receiver, but the Colts are more likely to attack the Titans on the ground than through the air. Even when Daniel Jones does throw a pass, he is more likely to throw it to a tight end than a receiver. Jones has favored tight ends more than any other quarterback during his time in the NFL, and that is showing through the first two games, as Tyler Warren has become a top target. Warren is questionable this week, but Pittman still has little fantasy value against the Titans.
Start: RB Tony Pollard
The Titans’ offensive line is struggling to start the season, and that’s putting it mildly. Cam Ward has been sacked 11 times, and he’s been pressured on 45.3% of his dropbacks. The Titans cannot afford for Ward to get injured behind an offensive line that can’t protect him, so it’s likely that Tony Pollard will carry the brunt of the load this week. Through two games, Tony Pollard has 38 carries for 152 yards and a reception for 29 yards. No other running back has more than three carries.
Sit: TE Chig Okonkwo
Chig Okonkwo is a top-three option for Cam Ward; he trails only Calvin Ridley and Elic Ayomanor in receptions. However, Ward has struggled to find his footing behind an offensive line that has faced some adversity this season already. The Titans are likely to favor the ground game against a divisional opponent, and also to protect Ward from unnecessary hits while they try to figure out the offensive line. Chig doesn’t have much fantasy value this week, so leave him on your bench.
Sleeper: WR Elic Ayomanor
Maybe he’s not totally a sleeper, but it’s clear that Cam Ward trusts Elic Ayomanor. They connected on both of their first career touchdown in the NFL last week, and Ayomanor’s confidence is settling in. The Titans may very well focus on the ground game, as indicated above, but they will still have to throw the ball. And when they do, he’s likely to find Elic Ayomanor more than once.
