The Las Vegas Raiders‘ offense was a disaster in the Week 2 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers. They managed nine points as starting quarterback Geno Smith was intercepted on three occasions. The offense needs a bounce-back performance against the Washington Commanders in Week 3.
We’ve identified three Raiders players on offense who will serve as X-factors.

Geno Smith, QB
Smith acknowledged the need to avoid turnovers and be more efficient. He’ll receive his opportunity on Sunday against an 18th-ranked Commanders pass defense. Historically speaking, Smith has routinely followed up a bad performance with a much better one throughout his career.
Dont’e Thornton Jr., WR
Rookie wide receiver Dont’e Thornton Jr. continues to make explosive plays when his number gets called. The former Tennessee Volunteers standout had a 36-yard catch against the New England Patriots in Week 1, and a 20-yard reception versus the Chargers in Week 2. Thornton deserves more opportunities to stretch opposing defenses.

Brock Bowers, TE
Elite tight end Brock Bowers played against the Chargers despite being on the injury report all week long. He was clearly limited, totaling just five receptions for 38 yards. Last week, Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft torched the Commanders for six receptions, 124 yards, and a TD. Bowers has been limited in practice, but he should be full-go.
