Week 4 of the Central Texas high school football season started Thursday night with Dripping Springs’ convincing 52-0 shutout win over Johnson, powered by Chase Ames’ 356 passing yards and five touchdown passes, and it continues with a nearly full slate of Austin-area games Friday night, including several district matchups.
District 25-6A is its second full week of district games. We’re at the McNeil vs. Round Rock game tonight as the Dragons try to avoid an 0-4 start to the season. District 26-6A kicks off next week, but Westlake hosts Cibolo Steele and Lake Travis is at 2-1 San Marcos in their final tune-ups. We’re at both of those games tonight as well.

District 12-5A Division I and District 11-5A Division II also are in play tonight.
