The Mahtomedi High School football game on Friday night has been canceled due to authorities searching for two suspects in the area who may be armed and dangerous.
Mahtomedi Public Schools initially issued a safety alert asking anyone on their campus to go to a locked vehicle or building. The school district later said that due to the search, the homecoming football game, which was scheduled to start at 7 p.m., has been canceled out of an abundance of caution.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office added that they are in the area of 75th Street North and Inwood Way North searching for two possible armed suspects.
Law enforcement describes the suspects as two men with black dreadlocks, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing black and brown clothing.
The sheriff’s office is asking residents in the immediate area of 75th Street North and Inwood Way North to shelter in place.
Authorities say not to approach the men as they may be armed and dangerous, and to call 911 if you see anything suspicious.
